The Department of Consciousness Research of the SENSE-GARDEN Association is focused on advancing research, education, and public outreach in the realm of Consciousness Studies and Cognitive Science. Our work is entirely non-profit and it is coordinated by researchers of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and Universidad Camilo José Cela.
As a part of the SENSE-GARDEN Association, our research contributes to the broader goal of the organization: to innovate and improve people's lives through a deeper understanding of human experience.
What is consciousness research?
The Department of Consciousness Research of the SENSE-GARDEN Association (formerly the European Institute of Consciousness Research) follows an interdisciplinary approach within the spectrum of cognitive science and consciousness studies. We integrate disciplines as diverse as phenomenology, welfare technologies, contemplative practices, psychedelic research and anthropology. This breadth of focus allows for a rich and multifaceted exploration of consciousness, providing a holistic view that encompasses not just the scientific aspects, but also the experiential, cultural, and philosophical dimensions.
Our goal is to create a dialogue between various disciplines within an academic context, fostering an environment where different perspectives on consciousness can coalesce, leading to humble advancements in our understanding of human mind and how to apply this knowledge in improving our wellbeing.
